Off & Running - September 2, 2012

So we pulled out of our 4th pit stop of the day and are about 1 hour from our first destination of Quebec City.  Don't worry, we will not keep informing you when nature calls each time along the way!

We are making excellent time, thanks to the great start this morning!  We were on the road at about 7:45 am. Not bad considering the late night on Saturday evening.  Thank you to the family & friends who were able to come out and send us off while helping us celebrate our 25th Anniversary which will occur later this month.  Some of you travelled great distances and it was awesome to see everyone!

We convoyed with Ken's sister Bev as far as Bowmanville.  We considered calling it a day there (just kidding!), but after a free breakfast courtesy Bev (thanks!) we continued on our way.

We got slightly turned around just after we crossed the Quebec boarder (dang construction - or perhaps it was a combination of this and the language barrier?  No matter what anyone says, I'm pretty sure they DO NOT make construction zones bi-lingual just so all the workers @ the 7am meeting begin the meeting with the traditional review of the traffic camera tapes - "Oui, stupid Ontario l'autos!"

We're so close to our 1st destination I can almost smell the Canadian Maple Delights from here Joyce! 😃. Good thing too, because the homemade cookie package from Barb is almost gone!!  What will tomorrow's travel menu include?  Barb, can you send more?

Hope everyone is having an awesome "last of summer" long weekend!

Hey quick question: Why do they call this "Labour Day Weekend" if no one works?
Select "COMMENT" and send us your thoughts.

Until then,
Happy Trails,

Sounds like you are having a great time. really enjoying reading about your adventures. Glad i am now able to comment guess "tech support" was thinking about his trip when he set this up! Zip lining? Hmmm that's a hard one. lets go with with Tricia? Why ? my choice is based on the fact that Zip lining is a lot like flying but without the peanuts. Glad you survived #105 sounds horrific. Cheers Nigel and Anita

Hey Nigel & Anita
Perhaps I didn't rely on tech support enough to set up the blog, or perhaps I just don't pay him enough! Either way, I take full responsibilities on the privacy settings. So glad it's fixed though. We love reading the comments as much as we are enjoying sharing our experience through this forum!

Although you’re sound logic for me being the one who Zip Lined seems reasonable, your submission is incorrect! The true answer was a misleading one...neither of us did it as they ZIP LINE at night and we didn't stay there in Grand Falls over night - otherwise I TOTALLY would have!! Have no fear, we read today there may be an opportunity for it here at the Bay of Fundy...we'll have to see what it involves. If it looks safe and cool - I'm all in! Ken will likely use the "I need to video tape it" excuse, but ALL viewers here will know the underlining truth! Thanks for taking the challenge for at least submitting an answer!! You Gain 10 Maritime Points! Congratulations!

Tricia and Ken: I am really enjoying your blog and your adventures! You both look fantastic in the pics, and that's a great tan you have going there Trish, considering all the rain!

As you were typing some of your first blogs, Perry and I were at MacGregor taking in Captain Rainbow! We had a glorious weekend there, and cannot wait for the Taylor Coach week and relaxing with great friends.

Keep up the great blog guys!
